I’m taking Allison (Budget Maven) up on her offer to let others borrow her “Currently” theme for today’s post. Here goes!
Currently, I am…
Watching: FOX news and their continued coverage on Friday’s tragedy. It may be playing in the background while I’m getting other things done, but the CT parents remain in the forefront of my mind and prayers today.
Listening to: Owl-themed Christmas paper (thank you, Target!) being wrapped around thoughtful gifts. I didn’t realize how much we depended on Brian’s gig money for our Christmas budget until it was no more. Thankfully, those on our list have warm homes, full pantries, and grateful hearts.
Planning: Next week’s meals, games, and activities when the family will be together. If Friday reminded me of anything, it was the importance of family and how we should never take our time for granted.
Thinking about: Yesterday’s sermon based on 2 Cor. 4:7-18. Kyle did an amazing job in bringing a message on God’s sovereignty. I don’t know about everyone else, but I needed to be reminded of the truths from this passage. I’m also thinking of our life group party last night and how we decided to fore-go exchanging gifts and instead, give praise to God for a tremendous gift we’ve already received — our grace stories. After each person had shared, we closed out by singing Joy to the World while lighting the candle of the person next to us. Thank you Kevin and Carolyn.
Making me happy: See picture below. A cup of tea sipped from one of my favorite Christmas tea sets, along with Holiday Hideout, a holiday read from Lynette Eason, a newcomer to our writer’s group, but certainly not one to readers. She just signed a multiple book deal with Harlequin. We’re delighted to have her in our group and I’m happy to have her book in one hand and a cup of Earl Grey in the other.
I’d love to hear what’s currently going on in your life. Feel free to use the above as an example, and if you do, please let me know so I can visit. 🙂
Thank you again, Allison!
