Following in the footsteps of Allison over at The Budget Maven, and My One Word, I’m losing the long list of resolutions (you know how I love lists!) and focusing on one word in 2013: SEEK.

For weeks now, Matthew 6:33 has met me at every turn. After the first three (I’m a slow learner), I slowed down long enough for God to peel back the curtain of flesh and expose specific ways I’ve put “all these things” above “the kingdom of God and His righteousness”. It wasn’t pretty and quite honestly, it broke my heart.

So in 2013, my focus is on SEEKING God, His kingdom, and His righteousness—and when I do this, based on His promise, I can release my long list “all these things” into His care.

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33 ESV

Steep your life
in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about
missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. Matthew 6:33 The Message

How about you? What one word describes your desire for 2013?

(A special thanks to Melanie @ Life is Only a Breath for the FREE One Word button. She’ll be happy to make one for your one word as well!) Thanks for the heads up, Lynn Blackburn!
