That was the song playing on the radio as I drove home from the assisted living place where my sweet grandmother passed away this morning.

The station was on 96.7, usually known for playing the more progressive type Christian music, so when this older song came on (only minutes away from my home), I sensed the Lord’s presence and above all, His comfort.

Our prayers were answered! Mama quietly slipped from the temporary bed holding her weak and frail body to the eternal lap of her heavenly Father.

I can only imagine
What it will be like
When I walk
By your side

I can only imagine
What my eyes will see
When your face
Is before me
I can only imagine

I can only imagine

Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for you Jesus or in honour of you be still
Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine

I can only imagine

I can only imagine
When that day comes
When I find myself
Standing in the Son

I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever
Forever worship You
I can only imagine

I can only imagine

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
no mind has conceived
what God has prepared for those who love him…”
1 Corinthians 2:9

I can only imagine.
