Almost one week following my orthopedic appointment, I ran. Not far, mind you — but I ran.

I had been in pain ever since the appointment due to the knee manipulation the docs performed during the exam. I came out with more knee pain than what I had going in. Gotta love it.

Although the run was anything but “fluid-like” (which is apparently the goal) — I had the opportunity to try out my new shoes — and the best part? My knee felt so good that I didn’t even have to ice it down afterwards.

While checking out a few newbie running forums (to reassure myself I wasn’t the only non-fluid- like runner around! ha…) I came across, along with the “Couch to 5K” program. I like its walk-run-walk ratio and plan to give it a try beginning this week.

So, yes, I’m definitely a newbie to the nth degree, but I’m loving every minute of it!

I hear “Deadliest Catch” calling my name…
