Wayne Gretsky once said, “I skate to where the puck is going to be, not to where it has been.”

It’s in that same spirit I’ve decided to approach my writing–looking ahead to where the Lord may be leading, refusing to rest on my laurels. There’s much to learn, a multitude of skills to hone, and numerous sparks of creativity waiting to be ignited– but these aspirations require movement in the right direction. Two books I’m currently working through are helping me to do just that!

“The Write-Brain Workbook” by Bonnie Neubauer

and “The Pocket Muse” by Monica Wood.

The old adage may go, “Practice makes perfect”, but thankfully, perfection is not my goal. However, practicing in an effort to remain alert and prepared for God’s direction certainly is.

“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith…”
Hebrews 12:2
