Three Lessons Learned While Blogging

Four years and nearly 800 posts ago, I dove into the blogosphere head first and have yet to come up for air. I surface today to simply share that changes are on the way! A fresh title and blog design, along with updated content, are all headed down the proverbial pike.

Looking back to my first post in February 2008 and moving forward into 2012, I’m reminded of three things:

  • I learn, grow, and yes, marvel a bit at other bloggers, but I must remain true to who I am and to what I sense God would have me share in this space.
  • Blogging has become a fine-tune button on the pulse of my life, raising awareness to my daily surroundings, thereby upping my praise/prayer opportunities.
  • Your time is of tremendous value to me. As a result, I try to keep my posts concise. After all, meaning is discovered in haiku (3 lines) as well as sonnets (14 lines).

Is there one specific way blogging has affected you, either as a reader or blogger?

Hot off the press!

Nov/Dec/Jan 2012 Artful Blogging…Visually Inspiring Online Journals

Monochromatic shades of white sweep over the cover like a fresh blanket of snow preparing you for the colorful feast that lies within. Initially, I purchased this magazine for its photographs but it’s the telling of blogger’s stories that keep me coming back for more. This bookzine would be a delightful gift for the creative person on your Christmas list. I found this copy at Barnes and Noble but I believe Publix and Walmart may also carry it.

Holiday 2011 life:beautiful…Faith For Your Journey

This cover is, as the magazine proclaims, is simply beautiful. Of course, it’s what we discover as we turn each page that makes this magazine truly shine. Romantic fall picnic ideas, meaningful gift ideas, a gingerbread nativity with 50 other recipes and projects—all with the purpose of glorifying Jesus Christ. Pick a copy up for yourself and someone you love. It’s a gift that keeps giving. I’ve found this magazine at Publix and Barnes and Noble.

Enjoy!
