Simple {Meaningful} Ways to Celebrate CHRISTmas…Day 19

by Cathy Baker

{ Day 19 }

Ever considered giving a heifer, a flock of ducks or honeybees for a gift? I’d not either until I received a catalog from Heifer International.

These gifts hold a greater purpose as well as a speedy option for any last minute gift ideas.

There’s something for every budget and burden (food, women, schooling, etc.) Many can’t give an entire pig ($120.00) but most can spare $10.00 to give a share of it. You can also make your donations in honor or memory of someone.

Heifer International

Heifer International is one of the most unique and important catalogs you’ll ever have the privilege to peruse.

Have you ever participated in Heifer International or a similar “outside the box” kind of ministry? I’d love to hear about it!

Hebrews 13:16 in Action

There are a multitude of ways for us to sacrificially give to others this season. A few ideas we may want to consider:

  • Samaritan’s Purse Christmas catalog. We’ve used this resource for awhile now. It’s a great way to get our children involved as some of the gifts are $5.00 and $10.00. They can see how their money will provide what they consider the basics of life for another child. You can also purchase a gift in memory or in honor of a loved one.

I’m just skimming the surface here. I’d love to hear your ideas! If applicable, share a link with us.

Blessings!

Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.
Hebrews 13:16 ESV
