Living across the street from a city park has its perks. One of which we noticed soon after the move to our old house: swing sets. Brian and I talked of what it would be like to some day stroll across the street with our grandchildren to watch them swing and play.
Eight years later…the first swing-time with Pappa (Brian) and Grammy (Yours truly). I think her giggle and the delight in our voices says it all. A dream come true.
And one day soon, we’ll have the pleasure of swinging sweet Judah when he arrives from Uganda. Another dream awaits…
What a cutie, Cathy! You're going to have so much fun with Piper, and how great that you're across the street from a park!
I didn't realize you had another one on the way, and from Uganda — WOW. That's exciting!
Thank you, Susan. Yes, we are pretty smitten with Miss Piper! And we are very excited about our oldest son and his wife adopting a little boy from Uganda. We don't know the date he'll arrive but we know God already has His hand on him and he'll arrive in God's perfect timing. Thanks for sharing! Love ya…
The video of Piper is precious! And those red shoes are to die for – along with her giggles! Cathy, you are wonderfully blessed.
Thanks so much, Cynthia! We do feel tremendously blessed. 🙂
You are and will be a terrific grandma. How special Piper is to have you and your love and treasures of wisdom and beauty.
Aww, thanks Marcia. 🙂 I had two of the best grandmothers I could have ever asked for, so I'm hoping to follow in their footsteps. Thank you for stopping by!
What a precious time for you and Brian. And I'm sure your excitement grows as you await the arrival of your new grandson.
Piper will surely love seeing the videos when she gets older.
I think so too, Ellen. It will be fun for sure. 🙂 Thanks for taking the time to stop by!
That's absolutely adorable! You know, my mom says she was shocked to discover how much she loved her grandchildren, and that not only do you love them for who they invidiually are, but the fact that they are your children's children almost doubles the love because your children love their children so much…hope that makes sense. I should have explained that better given that I call myself a writer. Anyway, I think you're proving that one to be true. So happy for you!
I think you explained it beautifully, Deb. It's true! When I hold little Piper I can't help but think of our boys, but especially Zach, since I see so much of him in her. And I'm sure Tammy (Sarah's mom) feels the same way since Piper is a beautiful combination of both Zach and Sarah.
It's a love I can't even begin to explain but I thank the Lord many times over for the blessing. Thank you for sharing, Debra!
Adorable!
I appreciate you sharing your heart and loving being a grandparent – My husband and I talk about it with our own boys even though they are still home. 🙂
Much to look forward to,
Love, Hester 😉
Hester, thank you for taking the time to stop by and share. Enjoy those moments with your boys while they're home as they'll quickly pass. You're right, however…you have much to look forward to. 🙂 Blessings!
