DAY 4: HOPE
Nothing awakens wonder inside us like breathing hope into the hopeless. This morning ask God to awaken you to someone who others have given up on. Prayerfully consider how God may want to use you to impart hope and encouragement in this person’s life. As you drive down the block, consider each neighbor. As you pass through a downtown area, consider every person hustling to and from work. As you walk through a park, consider the single parents playing with their children. Ask God to rouse you to the needs of those around you and use you to bring the wonder of restoration to others.
Where do you sense God is rousing you to bring the wonder of restoration to others?
I make it a point to make eye contact with the person checking my groceries, smile and thank them. It's amazing how hard it can be to get them to look up!
Great idea, Susan! Thank you for taking the time to share. 🙂
Have a nice weekend — hopefully it will be a dry one for us both. 🙂
Beautiful challenge. Today I'm making a delicious lunch, Japanese meal, for two precious friends. One of the ladies is going through tremendous physical trials at the moment, and I feel sure she will be encouraged, and hopeful, after the three of us spend time together sharing food, fun, and prayer.
Betty Jo, I have no doubt that anyone who is blessed to spend time with you will leave encouraged. 🙂
God bless you!
Another thing giving hope to someone else is that it puts our focus on them, and on God as he awakens our senses to their needs.
So true, Ellen. So true.
God bless you friend!
